Alright, Honest review from a married city boy, who lives out in the country, with an I.T. Business and going to school fulltime at a large University and would be a cowboy if it made more money. I don't write reviews often but these boots are worth a review. Basically, your going to get a review on everything but day in, day out manual labor in these boots because I run an I.T. Business and am studying to be a computer engineer. However, my father has run and still runs a Landscaping business and my step-dad runs a hotshot business and between the two of them I learned to do a lot of manual labor over the years and still do quite often when the schedule permits.Water Proof- First thing, these boots do have a waterproof lining. I have worked in water over my ankles and never had water seep through while wearing these boots. However, the leather is not water proof so over the last year I have used leather honey with a dewalt heat gun, both of these items bought and sold on amazon. After 3 thorough treatments over 4 months, I haven't needed to treat after heavy water exposure. The leather stands against moisture very well now. Fitting- I have fat feet and fallen arches so my review on fitment is going to be a complicated one. When I buy running shoes I have to get the widest possible shoe for two reasons. Frist, I have flat feet and I'm over weight so my feet tend to be wider than wide. Second, I paid for professional shoe inserts which use weight and gravity to rebuild an arch in your feet over time and these inserts are normally wider than my feet. So having both of these things in mind I bought a 9.5 size boot with EE width. They fit perfect after removing the very comfortable boot insert shipped with the boots and inserting my custom foot inserts. If you wanted a better estimate, I would need to buy a size 10 Ariat Roper in order fit my feet in the boot, even though my foot is a 9.5 length.Style- Nice. Seriously, I have a $300.00 pair of Ariats which sit in the closet now because these Justin Boots are seriously nice enough to go dancing in. I wear them to meetings, classes, special events and weddings(if I could get away with it). You can tear'em up outside, put down a little boot cream, use some leather honey if you feel the need and they are ready to roll. I wish they would sell more styles with the same quality.Tread/Build- THE STUFF! Wow, I can't say enough about the grip these boots have. I have taken them from Texas to Utah, and they have seen water, mud, snow, gravel, mountains, trails, and rivers. Absolutely no slipping.... They always get me through every time. Except for ICE, ICE will be slippery no matter what but the rubber mixed with the ice creates a dangerous situation and I would recommend some kind of addition to the boot if you plan to use these boots on ice or you should just grab a different a boot.Note: I longboard in these bad boys when on campus or working downtown Houston. It's fast and convenient. These boots have no problem and give me better grip on my boards than normal tennis shoes or running shoes. I love longboarding in them. The flexibility is way better than I would have expected from a boot.Lastly, I would recommend these boots to anyone and I will be looking at Justin boots in the future because of my experience with these work boots. Buy'em but choose your fit carefully. They probably run a little big but I would recommend buying your normal size first and if too big, return for free and get a smaller size.As many have mentioned, Justin boot sizing is a little off. I'm pretty much a guaranteed 43 euro size (translates to 9.5 to 10 us, depending on the scale you use). These boots I ordered in an 8.5 D... Why you say? Well i hate to admit it, but I show-roomed the boots (i.e., tried them on in a store). I knew from my Justin Stampede boots, that are about a year an a half old, that these would stretch out and form to your foot. I ordered those in a 9D and they are some of the most comfortable foot wear I have ever owned, but have gotten a little loose. With the 8.5D, I knew they would be a little tight to start, but after about a month, these things are stellar. On to the boot. Great traction, great looks, very comfortable (after sizing and break in considerations above).Just be aware. I highly recommend trying them on if possible, and buy them local if the price is similar. But a full size down from normal would be a good place to start.Best work boots I have. This is my 3rd pair in 6 years. I hunt, fish, hike and work in them. My work environment is oily and dirty. They clean up nice. Break-in takes a lil while. But like most good boots, break-in should take a minute if they are going to last.Initial Review:First off, I purchased the Rugged Utah version of these boots (round toe); in my opinion, they look better in person than in the picture. Before purchasing I read many reviews that said to order a 1/2 size smaller. I wear a size 14 in Adidas running shoes, at that size these boots don't come in 1/2 sizes so I got a size 13, I'm glad I did. They fit pretty good, I was told if they fit right there should initially be some heel slip, however, sometimes I don't feel like my heel is even touching. They are snug in the toes, but I think they will loosen up enough. My only compliant is I wish there sizing was more inline with the rest of the footwear industry. The size is accurate as I have several 9.5(Double H,Cabela's) boots and these fit the same. I got a EE because my D's are a bit tight and the sides blow out so these fit good, the heal is a bit lose but instep it tight like it should be. A little disappointed that they are made in China but what isn't these days. Overall the boots seem to be good quality will see how long they last, I usually get 3 to 4 years of daily wear out of my boots living on 10 acres and working around the place, hunting and horse back riding so time will tell.I work hard in the Arizona desert. These boots kept right up with everything I've done for five months now. I've spilled everything from water to motor oil to latex paint to caulk to muriatic acid on them and they show no stains or holes.Every boot I've ever worn out here allows long thorns to come through the soles—not these boots. They are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. When the triple digits come in June I'm gonna have to decide whether to keep wearing my jeans or — to hell with fashion — wear them with shorts when I go to the city.If I ever die my last request will be to put these boots on my feet.........If they aren't already on.I purchased these boots with a great hope that they might fit my husband. He desperately wants an new pair of boots, but due to his small foot and high arch, it is difficult to find a boot to fit him in an actual store. After reading the ratings for these boots on this site, and talking to a shoe salesman about Justin boots, I was convinced that these boots would work for my husband, because these boots tend to run large and and can be stretched to fit. When the boots arrived, my husband tried to put them on, but could not get his foot more than 2/3 of the way into the boot. I am sending these boots back with great sadness. The boots are a great boot, having a comfort insole and water and grease-proof exterior. There is a rugged sole.
