Like the description on this website, this IS a tote bag, meaning that it is big like a tote bag! The material feels like fabric embedded with plastic but it doesn’t feel cheap nor looks cheap. This is my second Haiku tote bag, I’ve had my first bag (brown tones) for over eight years and it doesn’t look older than a month old. These bags are designed thoughtfully and with great taste. They must have a really good QA department and the stitching is very strong and mostly concealed. The interior is a beautiful teal color, the material similar to baby diaper bags but with a nice texture. The laptop compartment has minimal padding and it fits a 13” MacBook Air loosely so I leave it in my cloth case which fits easily in the compartment. The main compartment is very roomy and deep. On the opposite side there are two pockets, both the same size-each are half the width of the bag and two thirds the depth of it. Then there is the key keeper, nice feature-I mean, who likes to fish for keys? The zipper is of contrasting color and the stitching looks as good on the inside as it does on the outside. The adjustable 1 1/2” strap is a beautiful soft nylon with solid swiveling hooks and detachable shoulder pad (not bulky). The handles are of the same material, each folded and stitched in the center for comfort (one has a wrapped material at the base which purpose remains a mystery to me). On the outside (back) there is an additional packet with contrasting color (plumb) zipper. Below this pocket, there is a two inch strap stitched and reinforced at the ends which can be secured to the handle of a wheeled suitcase when traveling. Two side pockets for bottles that won’t fit Nalgene 32oz bottles but will fit a regular 16.9 oz bottle almost to the top. On the front there is a beautiful embroidered design of the same color so it is very subtle but nice detail. On the front there is a very convenient semi-concealed zippered pocket the size of a mini iPad. The main compartment zipper and this zipper both have zipper pulls. It is not made out of light materials, empty, the weight could be compared to that of an empty quality leather bag of the same size. It looks casual professional. It is what I was looking for.This is my second of these bags. I bought a second before the first one was unusable -- because I noticed that they had stopped making it and didn't want to be without when my original finally wears out. It is just the right size and has all the right pockets, inside and out, to be prefect for my frequent flying.. And I love the fact that, unlike many such bags, it is taller than it is wide (so it fits down the plane aisle easier) and it has a strap on the back that allow you to slip it over the handle of my wheel-aboard bag. Just perfect!Bought this as a laptop bad for work. It has a padded pocket that holds a laptop or tablet as well as 4 other pockets. Perfect!!This is a nicely constructed bag; tough, holds a lot, and has enough pockets to separate my stuff. It's nice looking, too, and the shoulder straps are strong. It is a little long/deep, however, and so feels like a deadweight once I have my laptop, binders, and miscellaneous junk in it. I'd love it to be about three inches shorter so that it didn't pull me off my center of gravity so much. Otherwise...nice bag.This bag is beautiful! It has a ton of room, I use it for my grad school books and laptop. The only issue is that the bag itself is heavy. Starting off with a heavy bag only gets heavier with books and a laptop. Haiku bags are always well made, this bag is no exception.Excellent tote, pretty and well made. I have used it daily for the past few months to carry my Macbook, water bottle on side and personal items. I have a smaller purse I put inside for times I want to take fewer items with me. It can get heavy, so I wish I could carry it like a backpack at times but it works as it is designed perfectly.Although I bought this for my laptop, it is too big for daily use. However, it is great for carrying my cloths for sleep overs.I looked very hard for a tote bag that would fit my laptop and look cute. This bag had everything I wanted so I gave it a try. It's nice but I don't use it as often as expected because it is too big.
