Can be used on cuts, scrapes, AND diaper rash! This is a lifesaver my family been using this before I was bornI saw an interview of Raquel Welch and she said she uses 'Bag Balm' on her face before sleeping and it does wonders the next day, etc. I did a lot of rollerskating in my youth and the Sun gave me some skin damage. Since that interview I'm finishing my 2nd order and about to order a 3rd one. I use this balm on a Q-Tip to moisturize my ear canal and the ridges. I use wax earplugs to sleep soundly [since I'm a veteran] and any noise wakes me up. The earplug wax leaves my ear canals slightly dry and chafed. This product is very rich in composition and does excellent job on cracked skin. It works well on knees, heels and knuckles, on the nose, under the eyes - and around the mouth. A light coat and let it soak in. Use small finger to get in ear ridges, behind ears, into elbows, anyplace you have thicker rough skin. This will smooth it out overnight. The key is to get it into the cracks not just over them. Work it in a little with fingertip It works folks and no real scent to it. It doesn't feel messy when applied and drys completely in minutes. It actually gives relief immediately to redness, roughskin and dry itching.Fits in your purse perfectly. And it is perfect for sensitive baby’s bums.! Cake it on there and it works faster than anyyyyy brand I’ve ever tried.!Not a medical professional. But my mom did daycare for my whole life, we have seen everything under the Sun.!This is both my second and third purchase of Bag Balm. It is the only product that has kept me from chafing on my runs and I am grateful.I have used this product on skin scrapes, scratches, burns, & irritations. It may feel greasy, but when left overnight, you skin will feel amazingly soft.My husband works with his hands all day after so long his skin gets really dried and starts to split. Few years ago we bought a large tin of bag balm and it worked really well when he would actually use it. Lately he has been taking the large tin back and forth to work usually leaving it in his lunch pail (out of sight out of mind) with this tiny tin he can just put it in his shirt pocket. My only problem is when we received it the tin was wrapped in plastic and extremely hot so hot that the bag balm had melted and began to seep out of the lid it was all over the tin and plastic (this of course is unavoidable in the middle of summer). Otherwise this tin is very convenient just be warned if kept in your purse or pocket keep it up right or it will start to seep out of the lid.I bought this stuff for two reasons:A) My 3yo German Shorthaired Pointer is forever (okay, 2-3x a year) busting her major pads by running into/over crap she should be avoiding with her gazelle-style frolicing, &B ) The sides of my fingers, along some nailbeds are unusually prone to splitting. With problem A, the stuff seems to suffice. She doesn't object to it any more than she does with liquid bandage or vetwrap. Additionally, she must not find it *that* offensive, because after she cleans off any between-the-toes excess herself, she generally leaves it to soak in and goes about her busy life; Searching out the warmer sunspots on the tile or buring noms in every corner of our house. For problem B, not so much. I don't have any unusual allergies or sensitivities to much of anything, but the smell of this ointment is *so* unappealing that I find myself getting a very uncomfortable headache if I use it anywhere. And the scent absolutely *does not* dissipate over time. If it touches skin, the smell is with you until you use de-greasing/dishsoap. I might try to use it overnight on my feet with sock layering under a duvet, but I can't use it on myself daily. The only other gripe I have it the expense, since its soft consistency (@ room temp) lends itself to accidental accumulation you have to then (rather unhygeinicaly) put back or waste. So, recap: Great for sport or working dog's wound care in regard to soothing cracks or late-stage healing injuries of footpads. Not great for some human use if you are at all sensitive to aromatic topicals.Tried everything for my psoriasis and nothing touched it until I tried this which can only be described as magical. The downside is the price, fantastically expensive for what it is but I guess you get what you pay for and you don’t need much at a time, it goes a long way, as based on Vaseline and Lanolin it is a bit greasy on application. Also has a very distinctive odour which you will either love or hate, fortunately my girlfriend adores the smell and can’t get enough of it, likes it better than any aftershave and even makes her a bit frisky, ordering two more pots today.Excellent product for peeling nails and dry cuticles. I've used this for 2 years after reading an article from America on peeling nails. My nails always peeled and never grew until I tried this. I use every night before bed and my nails have grown! I recommended it to friends who also found it superb. DONT buy the large tin at a cheaper price as it's NOT THE SAME PRODUCT. After my first tin I saw the large tin on Amazon and thought it was better value but it was not as it didn't work. My nails started peeling again so I bought the 1oz tin and that worked. The large tin is still in the cupboard.Enough for a few applications before deciding if to buy the bigger tin or not, will decide once this sample is used upThe best thing I have ever used for cracked skin.Really great stuff. Heal my dry skin after a few days.
